SLAG: The Four Pillars of Pikes

Pi Kappa Alpha is a general, secret, social college fraternity with the goal of fostering friendship, leadership and community involvement amongst its members as one of North America's premier fraternities. We have achieved this success by attracting the highest calibre men on university and college campuses throughout Canada and the United States. Pikes aims to improve all of its members through adherence to its four pillars of SLAG: Scholarship, Leadership, Athletics and Gentlemanly Behaviour.

Scholarship

As a student, you will be investing years of your life in the University experience, and when it comes time to enter the "real world", your grades can be considered the payoff. Success in academics can often translate to success in life. Pikes provides the resources necessary to achieve this success. Be it through studying with other brothers or drawing on the experiences of senior Pikes who share your program, Pikes provides you with the tools to be your best academically.

Leadership

Your ability to function as a leader in life can prove just as important as your grades. Pikes are leaders on campus as well as leaders in the Fraternity world. Leadership opportunities are available within the Fraternity and many Pikes are prominent leaders on their campus, from serving in student government to chairing volunteer committees to managing campus business. Pikes provides you the opportunity to work with leaders as well as become one.

Athletics

Every University offers opportunities for intramural participation. Sports provide a great release and can be the source of more great University memories. Pikes participate in various intramurals on campus every year and are consistently amongst the top teams.

Gentlemanly Behaviour

Pikes pride ourselves on being gentlemen in all of our interactions. The concept of being a gentleman is easy to understand but often hard to attain. In surrounding yourself with other gentlemen, Pikes can help to refine social skills for just about any occasion.
